History

Gibeon War Graves

Stop over at the Gibeon War Graves a few kilometres further north of Keetmanshoop. The British Station Cemetery contains a plot with the graves of 33 Commonwealth (South African) soldiers who fell in the Battle of Gibeon (27 April 1915).

Sossusvlei & the open road

Long, straight gravel roads, springbok on the plains and the red dunes of Sossusvlei to the north-west. Fill up at the Shell next door and set off early.
